Retinopathy is caused due to diabetes in which the thousands of blood vessels, that connects the retina, starts to leak. Because of the leakage, more vessels grow around the eyes, thus causing vision related problems in numerous diabetic patients. In some cases, an individual may lose his or her vision completely, i.e. become blind. It is very hard to diagnose retinopathy in the initial stage of its happening as there are not clear symptoms related to it. Thus, it can be addressed only during its advance stage.

Vitamin A is a vital source for keeping the eyes healthy. So, one should go for the vegetables and fruits that have high content of vitamin A. Carrot being the best source of the respective vitamin. So, try to indulge carrot in your daily diet.

We can also make use of ginkgo biloba. It increases the level of oxygen and vital nutrients in the eyes and thus is essential for fighting against retinopathy. It not only provides strength to the blood vessels and veins but also is vital in reducing the pressure in glaucoma and protecting the eyes from retinopathy.

Procyanidins supports the retinal capillaries and stops the clotting or bleeding related problems. Grape seed extract is a good source of Procyanidins which also increases the night vision and provides essential nutrients to the eyes. It also retards the eye aging problem and is an essential remedy for the retinopathy. Spinach is another source of carotenoid. Spinach extract can also be implemented. It basically serves as the building block for the eyes and its tissues and thus, it is an efficient treatment for retinopathy.

Antioxidant such as alpha lipoic acid helps in reducing and maintaining the sugar levels in the blood and can be a preventive measure for retinopathy. Fluctuation in the sugar level causes the eyes related problems so it is better to have a rich fiber diet and perform regular exercises to stop the fluctuation. Eye related exercises should be performed. Try to move the eyes up and down and append circular motion, anticlockwise or clockwise. This will strengthen the eyes.
