Home Remedies for Rectal Itching, Natural Treatment



Home remedies for rectal itching can cause relief to great extent caused due to non medical reasons. Mainly it is caused by skin disorders, pinworms, diabetes or liver disease and vaginal infection in woman. It can be very irritating and embarrassing and it aggravates by scratching.

Sometimes itching is caused due to dryness of the anal lining, petroleum jelly works as a good home remedy for such rectal itching. Apply petroleum jelly after few hours in a day for a week for smoothening of the dry area. Applying cotton ball soaked in witch hazel for few seconds after few hours or according to the need, gives immediate relief from the problem.

Paste of dried orange peels applied at the affected area for a week also relieves the problem. Soap nut decoction is another trusted home remedy for rectal itching. It can be prepared by boiling skin of soap nuts with a glass of water, after cooling, grind them in the same water and strain it. This decoction gives immense relief in a short time.

Tub baths with warm water also helps in treating rectal itching. Simple bath in a tub of warm water increases the blood flow in the tissues and relieves the problem. Oatmeal or baking soda can also be mixed with water for a tub bath. Mixing peppermint or yellow dock or two teaspoon of vinegar also helps in alleviating the itching.



Applying weak carbolic acid or a solution of sodium bicarbonate at the itchy part also provides relief from rectal itching. Using cornstarch in powder form to apply on the affected area or using it by mixing it with water for a bath, also treats the problem well. Burdrock root oil is also an old and trusted home remedy for rectal itching.

Herbal treatments are also effective home remedies for rectal itching. Herbs like horse chestnut can be used internally as well as externally for the cure of rectal itching.

'Neem' Azadirachta indica, is very effective in the treatment of rectal itching both with internal and external use. Neem possesses great anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and if its leaves consumed either in the diet or simply by chewing them, can impart curative effect to the problem. Paste made of few neem leaves mixed with water and applied at the affected area relives itching immediately.

Slippery elm and white oak bark are other herbs which can alleviate the problem and work as good home remedies for rectal itching.

Nettle oil application at the affected area or drinking nettle leaves tea also helps in treating this problem. Sometimes there are particular types of foods that cause rectal itching, identification of such foods and avoiding them solves the problem. Frequent occurrence of rectal itching can be relieved by increasing the intake of zinc, vitamin C, E and beta-carotene in the diet. Applying cod liver oil, aloe vera, lemon juice or wheat germ oil also alleviates the itching. Consuming chickweed, plantain, golden seal or yellow dock also works as home remedy for rectal itching. Drinking lot of water and bathing with mild soap during the problem also helps in avoiding aggravation of the problem.
