Home Remedies for Poison Oak, Natural Treatment



Poison oak is also referred to as a poison ivy. It is a kind of plant usually found in America. Scientific name of poison oak is termed as Toxicodendron diversilobum. Massage the affected area with the inner part of the banana peel, which would surely help you to fight with poison oak. Drench the affected area in water. This will swab away histamines, due to which the sufferer feels pain. You can also try to soak the affected are in the water mixed with certain amount of oats and massage it gently. This will help in minimizing the pain.



Add twenty five percent of bleach with seventy five percent of warm water and apply to the affected area with the help of a wash cloth. This is likely to eradicate the poison within forty eight to seventy two hours.

Aloe Vera juice can also be applied on the area affected; this would help the area to become calm and gives immediate relief from pain. It is an effective home remedy for poison oak.

Taking bioflavonoid accompanied with vitamin C will likely to stay away from the infection and quick scattering of the rashes and cure irritation.

Beta-carotene and calcium helps in pumping up the immune system of the body and cures the affected area rapidly.

Zinc aids in restoring the scratched tissues of the skin.

Do not try to heat the poison oak as it may cause treacherous smoke that is harmful.

Massaging the peels of citrus fruits like lemon may help you out to cure the area where you have touched the poison oak.
