Muscle spasms and cramps can happen to anyone. The enormous pain that they provide needs to be cured as it affects our daily life procedures. For this purpose, some home remedies can be followed provide some relief from the pain that is endured due to cramps and muscle spasms.

One of the best home remedies for the problems related to spasms, cramps and pain is bathing with the help of hot water. Also, some stretching exercise will help against the cramps and pain. Exercise increases the blood circulation in the body and supports the tissue as well. Also, muscle spasms occur due to the deficiency of calcium in the body. So, it is important to include those food items in the diet that are rich in the calcium content. Dairy products such as skimmed milk, yoghurt and ricotta cheese can fulfill the respective requirement. Also, if an individual is prone to such cramps and spasms, it is basically due to higher levels of acid in the body. So it is better to go for less acidic food items.

Deficiency of potassium in the body can also result to problems related to muscle spasm and cramps. So, it advisable to go for diet that is rich in potassium. One can eat bananas, apricots, tomato puree, potatoes, and bran wheat and soya flour for the inclusion of potassium. Also, it is better to provide the adequate rest to the muscles. One should not try to exert more pressure on the muscles. Try to avoid heavy weight lifting in the gym or home as this will trigger up the pain, caused by cramps and spasms.

Another home remedy for muscle spasms that can be used is celery seeds. Intake of celery seed helps in relaxing the muscles and retarding the pain as well. Cramp bark can also be used for the treatment of muscle spasm and cramps. Use of hot herbal packs is also effective against the pain. If a cramp is encountered while an individual is lying, it is better to stretch the legs out and bend the toes towards the head. This will help in relaxing the muscles and will provide required support against the cramps.

The muscles related problems also occur due to lack of fluids in the body. So, one should drink plenty of water and should also drink other sources of fluid such as energy drinks and fruit juices. This will keep the body hydrated and protect the body from cramps and spasms. Also, chamomile tea can be used as it provides relief from the pain. Alcohol consumption should be neglected as it causes deficiency of magnesium in the body, which thus causes cramps and muscle spasm. Soaking the feet in the hot water is also helpful. For faster recovery, put some black or brown mustard seeds into the hot water.

It is always recommended to take adequate rest during spasm and cramps. But, if the pain is unbearable, it is better to consult a specialist.
