Home Remedies for Leucoderma



Home remedies for leucoderma treats the problem very well caused due to loss of skin pigment. Leucoderma or white patches arise when cells stop producing melanin. It mainly occurs in the hands, wrist, neck and back and is not an infectious disease but can be passed hereditarily.

There are many home remedies that can help in improving the white patches on the skin focusing on improvement of blood flow to the affected area and curing bowel disorders. Paste of psoralea seeds and tamarind seeds applied on the affected area until desired results are not achieved, is an effective treatment to the problem. This paste is rich in vitamin C and helps the skin to nourish by removing the cells which are not producing the melanin.

Ginger is also an effective treatment both taken internally as well as externally, extract of ginger can be applied to the affected area or paste of ginger root smeared on the white patches increase the blood flow to the ailing area and helps in curing it. Another home remedy for leucoderma made with ginger is by mixing it with equal quantity of red clay to make a paste, applying it on the white patches and letting it dry for few minutes before washing it off with warm water.

Turmeric also constitutes effective home remedies for leucoderma. 500 gm of turmeric soaked in eight liters of water for sometime and later boiled to reduce the water to one liter. After cooling, strain it and mix it with half liter of mustard oil to make a paste. This paste shall be applied at the affected areas twice in a day for few months. Consuming turmeric with warm water or one teaspoon of it with warm milk in the night also helps in avoiding leucoderma.

Drinking water, kept overnight in a copper vessel, in the morning on an empty stomach also helps in alleviating the problem.



Drinking mixed juice of alfalfa and cucumber, 100 gm in quantity, twice in a day, in the morning and in the night for few month works as an effective home remedy for leucoderma.

Grinding dried pomegranate leaves into powder and consuming 8 gm of this in the morning and evening also treat the white patches effectively.

Another very effective home remedy for leucoderma can be made with psoralea seeds and ginger. Soak psoralea seeds in ginger juice for 3 days, the ginger juice shall be changed everyday, later dry and grind them into a powder. Consuming 1 gm of this powder everyday with a glass of milk for few months cures the problem.

Radish seeds, 25 gm in quantity, grinded to make a powder and mixing it with 2 teaspoon of vinegar to make a paste. Application of this paste on affected area for few months treats leucoderma.

Drinking a glass of neem juice everyday or applying the paste made of its bark and water on the patchy areas also works as home remedy for leucoderma.

Holy basil leaves consumed orally or paste applied on the white patches also treats the problem effectively.

Increased intake of walnuts and figs in the diet will surely help the body in avoiding the occurrence of this disease as well as curing it.
