Home Remedies for Freckles, Natural Treatment

Home remedies for freckles helps in fading them to a great extent giving psychological relief and boost to the person bearing them. Freckles are, flat round dark colored painless spots, result of skin pigmentation at one place. These are not contagious but have hereditary aspect. Freckles are UV rays sensitive and appear more when exposed to the sunlight.

Applying the thick part of the curd on the face, before taking a bath for at least half an hour everyday, is good for overall health of the facial skin and fades the contrasting color of the skin. Washing the face with butter milk is also an effective natural treatment as it is a rich source of lactic acid. Applying lemon juice is also a good home remedy for freckles. Direct application of lemon juice on the affected part bleaches the skin. Avoid going out in the sun with lemon juice on the face as it may cause damage to the skin.

Face mask paste made of natural ingredients is the best home remedy for freckles. If skin is prone to freckles wearing homemade face masks of apricot, strawberries and cucumber are very good for avoiding and lightening freckles. Another very simple home remedy for freckles is mixing the daily used face cream with equal quantities of parsley juice and lemon or orange or red currant juice and applying it on the face or on affected areas with a gentle massage. This can work as an all day healing mask for the skin.

Another very effective home remedy for freckles is by using honey. Wheat germ mixed in warm honey and applied at the dark spots, after half an hour wash them with warm water. Later, rinse the spots with cold water, this increases the blood flow and honey treats the skin pigmentation.

Watermelon and rice also constitute an effective home remedy for freckles. Dig a hole in a fresh watermelon and put few grains of rice in it for a week. Take out the rice after a week, grind them and apply the paste on the dark spots. Washing the face with buttermilk or rubbing sliced red onion on the affected area also alleviates the spots of freckles.

Increase the intake of vitamin C in the diet for avoiding occurrence of freckles. Organic sources of vitamin C are green onions, red currant, all types of citrus fruits and vegetables. Increased in take of vitamin A, B and E also grows skin resistant and avoids the pigmentation.

A balanced exposure to the sun is also a home remedy for freckles, for those who have freckles in their family. Sun rays are important for skin nourishment hence avoiding them too much is harmful, but they can cause pigmentation too. Take the sun rays in the morning directly on your skin but use sunscreen lotions or creams when sun is beating down hard.

A very careful use of bleaching agents is necessary as they try to bleach the color of freckles to the approximating color of surrounding skin. But sometimes they may give out undesirable results by making the skin having freckles rough and more evident.
