Home Remedies for Dry Hair, Natural Treatments



Home remedies for dry hair gives necessary support that hairs on human head need to endure belting of pollution, products, sun and wind on daily basis. Problem of dry hair has hereditary aspect too but can be kept in check by some care to a large extent. Too much styling also causes dryness and problem of split ends.

Egg is very commonly used as a home remedy for dry hair as well as for many hair related problems. For dry hair, separate white fluid of the egg from yolk and blend it, later add a tablespoon of water and blend it again to form a cream. Now add the yolk to it and mix them well and apply gently into hairs, after moistening them, till it reaches the scalp. Rinse them thoroughly with water after using up the whole mixture.

Another very effective home remedy for dry hair, with the use of an egg, is made by blending an egg with milk or yoghurt and later adding lemon juice of one lemon and a teaspoon of coconut or olive oil to it and blending it again. Once this is ready apply it on hairs and leave it for an hour covering them with a warm wet towel. Later rinse them with warm water and last rinse shall be with warm water with lemon juice mixed in it.

Banana also works as true and trusted home remedy for dry hair. Blending two ripe bananas with half cup of beaten curd and applying this paste into the hairs with a thick coat towards the end of the hairs. Leave it for an hour and rinse them with normal water and shampoo. This remedy gives immediate results. Another home remedy for dry hair is by blending two bananas with mushy and rotten avocado and applying this paste on hairs for 15 minutes and washing it away with normal water.



One very easy to use home remedy for dry hair is by mixing honey and any vegetable oil in equal quantities and applying it on the hairs with a gentle massage. After 15 minutes, wash the hairs with cold water. Applying warm oil massage is very effective in curing dry hair. Crush four almonds and mix them with coconut oil. Steam this mixture and apply on the hairs with massage while it is still warm, cover the head with a warm wet towel and shampoo later with normal water.

Mixture of one tablespoon of amla powder and lemon juice mixed with some water to form a paste and applied on the hairs for 15 minutes. This remedy also works well for treating dry hair.

Mayonnaise also works as an effective home remedy for dry hair. Heat one cup of mayonnaise till it becomes white and oily and apply it on the hairs. Cover the head with a plastic bag to keep the vapors inside for 15 minutes. Wash and rinse later with water.

Some precautions also work as home remedy for dry hair as they prevent dryness of the hair. Avoid using chemical based gel, colors, styling creams and bleaches. Drinking lot of water and massaging hairs regularly with any natural oil keeps hairs healthy. Eating healthy diet with green vegetables and low fat also helps in keeping hairs healthy.
