Home Remedies for Dark Underarms and Armpits

We agree to the fact that dark underarms or armpits may be extremely embarrassing for many. What if you can't wear your favorite sleeveless due to this, so, you may need to seriously try some solutions to avoid this. Is there anything medically wrong in this condition? Not at all, it's basically a cosmetic pursuit. Besides this, many men and women consider this as unhygienic. Women are particularly conscious of this when they wear dresses which expose their underarms. There are plenty of creams available in the market, but, we don't suggest using them since it would give long lasting side effects.

Natural treatment are the best you can rely on to eliminate this trouble. Most bleaching creams have Hydroquinone in it, which may cause thyroid disorders, leukemia and liver damage. Not just Hydroquinone, there could be other dangerous ingredients as well, such as mercury and steroids. So, any day we suggest natural methods to the creams available in the market.

First and foremost, you must keep your skin moisturized and cleansed. Little care daily on this would be beneficial. Protect your skin from harsh sun light. Try to drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily to keep your skin hydrated. If you smoke, then try to quit this habit, which is not at all good for your skin. You should also try to include lots of fruits, vegetables and other fiber rich food items in your diet. Fiber rich food items have the ability to flush out toxins from your body.

Now, let's see a simple home remedy for dark underarms or armpits. Take few lemon slices, and rub them on your underarms. You should keep the lemon juice for at least 15 minutes on your underarms. You may also apply honey on top of it. Try this twice a day for several days until you see positive results.

One of the basic reasons behind dark underarms is the use of deodorants. Sweat and deodorants usually forms the dark color on your skin. So, control your deodorant usage if it causes dark underarms. You can switch to a talcum powder instead. Sometimes, using an antiperspirant would also cause this problem. If it is happened due to this, immediately stop using the product which triggered this condition.

You may be surprised to know that excessive shaving and waxing can also lead to dark underarms or armpits. When you shave on a daily basis, the shaving cream may cause this trouble. Excessive waxing can irritate your skin and may lead to dark underarms. So, wax less often if it is due to this. Moreover, switch to a natural deodorant or shaving cream or antiperspirant to avoid this problem.

Vitamin C has found to be very effective in treating this. So, make sure that you eat food items which are rich in vitamin C.

There are few nature based ingredients which you can opt for. Alpha Arbutin is a water-soluble ingredient which has effective bleaching agents in it. This bio-synthetic ingredient can give quick results. Kojic Acid, a widely used ingredient in Asia, which is a natural by-product of fermentation of rice. This too is considered as a powerful and safe natural ingredient to bring good results.
