Home Remedies for Corns, Herbal Treatment

Corns are painful and cause lot of discomfort, home remedies for corns help in alleviating the problem and also in its preventions. Usually tight fitted shoes are major cause of forming a corn. Poorly cut or dirty nails also cause corn. Extra pressure on some areas of feet also makes the skin thick at any point and later leads to the formation of corns.

Primary home remedy for corns is to wear proper footwear which provides enough space to the toe. Ideally, footwear providing enough space for foot fingers to wiggle is good. Keeping proper cleanliness at the foot area and timely cutting and filing of nails keeps the problem of corns at bay.

To treat, liquorice is the most valuable home remedy for corns, 2-3 liquorice sticks grinded and mixed with sufficient mustard oil to form a paste. The paste shall be applied at the affected area before retiring, this treatment will reduce the corns and will slowly remove them. Lemon is another valuable home remedy for corns. On hard cons, fresh slice of lemon shall be tied and wrapped over with plastic sheet in the night for few days regularly. For soft corns lemon juice can be applied directly which will treat the infection and soften the skin.

Bread and apple cider vinegar also constitute an effective natural home remedy for corns. A piece of bread dabbed in apple cider vinegar and tied to corn affected area for few days, treats the problem very well. The bread shall be changed in the evening and in the morning. Tying skin of ripe banana at the corn for a week without changing it also cures the corn and prevent its reoccurrence.

Papaya juice is also used as a home remedy for corns, as its juice is an irritant and when applied directly to the corns helps in softening and removing the infection. Half teaspoon of papaya juice shall be applied at least three times in a day. Applying fresh green figs juice two-three times in a day is also an effective treatment. Paste of chalk with water can also be applied at the corns for benefiting results.

Indian squill, an herb, is a very useful home remedy for corns. A roasted bulb of Indian squill tied at the corn in the night and removed in the morning, doing this on regular basis, alleviates the problem in few days. Application of castor oil is also useful in the treatment of this problem. Tying a cotton ball or cloth dabbed in castor oil at the corn and covering it with a bandage or plastic wrap helps in first softening the skin and later curing it completely.

Soaking the feet with Epsom salt water also helps in curing this problem. Soaking the feet in diluted chamomile tea also helps in curing this problem. Make a paste of one teaspoon of brewer's yeast and lemon juice, apply it on the corns by spreading it on a cotton cloth and bandaging the corns with that cloth. This natural treatment cures the corns in few days. Some evidences have shown that juice of dandelion stem applied directly at the affected area also cures this problem.
