Home Remedies for Body Odor, Natural Treatment

Body odor is something which all of us have, but, severity may vary from person to person. To have an odor is something very natural, but at times, this odor can create much discomfort and displeasure. Then it's time for you to seriously try some remedies to eradicate this unpleasant condition.

Although several factors cause body odor, bacterium on your body is the main villain. These bacteria grow rapidly in the presence of sweat and hence create an offensive odor. However, the amount of sweat produced has nothing to do with the intensity of the smell; sometimes even less amount of sweat can create much odor and vice versa. So, it is important to know that it's not just about a single factor, there are many factors which affect body odor such as diet, gender, occupation, mood swings, climate conditions etc.

First and foremost, you should try to bring in some changes in your diet, as improper digestion leads to body odor. Make sure that you always eat those food items which are easy to digest, and avoid those which are difficult to digest. You may avoid pickles, spicy food, red meats, desserts and ice cream. Also avoid food items which are either too cold or too hot. To make your digestive tracts clear, eat lots of green leafy vegetables. Eat some plantains after every heavy meal, this will surely help digestion. Avoid oily snacks; instead, eat fruits like banana, apple, orange etc. Also try to have green salad dish on a daily basis. Water is also very important home remedy to fight body order; drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.

Now it's time for us to see what can be done on the personal hygienic front to avoid body odor. It is highly recommended to have a daily bath, which is very useful to keep your body clean and to destroy the bacteria on your body. Mild warm water is preferred rather than cold water, since hot water has the ability to increase the blood circulation. Wearing clean cloths after the bath is very important, and make sure that you always use clean underwear and socks. You may use a talcum powder having antiperspirant agents in it. Also, shave your armpits so that odor will be less.

Now, let's see some of the home remedies. You may use sage tea, which is very useful in dealing with body odor. Take few sage leaves, mix it with tomato juice and apply it on your body. After 30 minutes take a bath and wash off this paste. This will keep you out of odor for an entire day.

Another method is to apply vinegar made from apple cider. Apply this on your armpit. Even the normal white vinegar will do, since vinegar has the ability to fight off bacteria. Vinegar has acetic acid in it, which has antibacterial properties. You could also try turnip, which has the ability to keep the applied area free of sweat and perspiration. So it is advised to use this home remedy on a regular basis, which will be very useful in dealing with the odor.
