Home Remedies for Age Spots, Liver Spots

Age spots are popularly known as liver spots or solar lentigo. These occur mainly due to blemishes on the skin which comes with the ageing and exposure to sun rays exposure especially by ultraviolet radiation. They are also called sun spots or solar spots.

Most commonly they rest in light brown, reddish color or black color and one can easily spot them on body parts which are often exposed to sun light – like Face, Hands, Arms, Forehead and Shoulders. For who are bald includes head as well. 'Liver spots' is often misconstrued as the result of liver problems which is incorrect. This doesn't relate to human body liver. What often happens is when a person reaches in his later half of fourth decade of life, the skin gets more vulnerable to sun exposure and thus not able to regenerate its cells. Those who spend most of their time in sunshine often have liver spots.

Though most of live spot cases pose no threats to human life however at times, they cause skin cancer. Therefore it's very much in favor of person to keep away from sunshine so that skin does not get damaged. Environmental factors like pollution may also harm skin and result in skin irritation and blemishes. Blemishes get worse when come into contact of substances like hair or cloths. Being stressed and changes in hormones also add to the blemishes particularly androgen is responsible in blemishes. Androgen hormone causes sebum production. More sebum accumulates, more damaging it gets.

People who want to get away from these go through the electro surgery, cryotherapy or laser treatments. However these options are not pocket friendly and require lot of money.

Therefore homemade remedies would be very helpful and cost friendly when it comes to medication.
