Chlorine, fluoride and iodine may appear to be friendly but not always. Consumption of chlorine, through chlorinated water or fluoride through toothpaste and other dental medicines shall be kept in check. Presence of these two chemicals blocks the consumption of iodine by the thyroid gland and may lead or deteriorate goiter.
