Some people feel a burning sensation in the urethra during urination. There may be various reasons behind this, such as urinary tract infection, enlarged prostate, venereal diseases, stone in urinary bladder, obstruction of urinary passage, or concentrated urine especially in summer.
If a person feels burning sensation while passing urine, increased frequency of urine, or obstruction while passing urine, he should have a routine microscopic examination of his urine. If pus cells are present, he should immediately consult a doctor.
1. Drinking plenty of water and fluids is very helpful in the treatment for urinary infection.
2. Carrots are beneficial in relieving burning urine.
3. Black plum (jamun) is also useful in this problem. Take 100 grams daily.
4. Avoid hot spices and exposure to sun and heat.
5. Take radish juice 25 ml twice daily. It is a good home remedy for burning sensation while passing urine.
6. Take lemon juice 2-3 times a day mixed with sugar and water. This will relieve the burning sensation while passing urine.
7. You may also drink fresh coconut water once a day.
8. Take sugarcane juice as much as you can. This is also helpful in this condition.
9. Dip 10 grams of coriander (dhania) in water overnight. In the morning mash, sieve and add sugar candy in it. Drink this mixture.
10. Grate cucumber (kheera) and add in some curd. Daily intake of this will cure burning in urination. Cucumber seeds contain potassium, which is beneficial in treating urinary ailments.
11. Spinach (palak) contains vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium, sodium and calcium, which are good for easy clearing of urine.
12. Take condiment of onion (pyaz) mixed in curd for some days to decrease burning micturition.
13. Grind 8-10 fresh leaves of bilva (bael) tree and add in 200 grams of water. Take this mixture once a day to cure the problem in three to four days.
14. Boil two onions (pyaz) in water, sieve and drink to clear urinary passage.
15. Dip a towel in cold water and keep on the stomach below the umbilicus for 20 minutes. This is helpful in treating retention along with burning.
16. Drink watermelon (tarbuj) juice mixed with sugar daily to cure burning during urination.
17. Eat tomato daily. It is rich in vitamin C that helps in clearing and preventing urinary tract infections.
18. Chew four to five fresh leaves of holy basil (tulsi) on an empty stomach twice a day, with one to two sips of water. It cures burning urine in four to five days.
