How to Prevent Swine Flu (H1N1 Flu) Infection?

Swine flu is very popular among pigs. In humans swine flu is caused when the human is in contact with sick pigs. It is a type of influenza. When there is human to human contact the swine flu is transmitted. Prevention from this infection is very important as it may cause many serious problems.

Swine flu and seasonal influenza have great similarity with each other. So the best way to prevent swine flu is to prevent a regular flu. Swine flu is potentially deadly and this infection is highly contagious. So to take precaution is not an easy task. Some of the precautions to prevent swine flu are as follows:

If a person is feeling cold due to illness or flu like symptoms then he or she should not go to work. He or she should follow the same home remedy which we generally use to follow on usual cold and flu. If your condition does not improve or worsen then contact emergency hospital or health care provider.

Always use disposable tissue paper or cover your mouth while sneezing or coughing. Swine flu is transmitted in the same way as in common cold through respiratory droplets so avoid to touch your mouth, nose and face frequently.

Use of mask is very beneficial in preventing swine flu. But most of the people don't like to use the mask as it looks very odd. All the masks are not so good. Higher quality masks are very effective. It is expensive, but 100% safe. It also helps in filtering out some respiratory infections.

Another important point to prevent this influenza is that you should wash your hand frequently with antibacterial solution. The virus survives long on the surfaces of surrounding.

If medically it has confirmed that a particular area is affected by swine flu then try to avoid large gatherings of people. Indoor gathering should also be avoided as the circulation of air will be poor. Before any symptoms or sign of an individual is demonstrated he or she may be infected by this contagious virus for several days. So gathering both indoor and outdoor should be avoided to prevent swine flu.

Hand sanitizers with alcohol based is helpful to some extent in preventing swine flu. Also increase your intake of foods rich in vitamin C to boost your body's immunity against any type of viral infections.
