Puberty is that stage in every person's life when he or she moves ahead from being a child to becoming an adult, which indicates that the sexual hormones in the human body are now activated. In females, it indicates that their menstrual cycles now begin and that they will face multiple changes in their body, ranging from hormonal one to physical ones. At first, it can be slightly difficult for young girls at the age of 13 or 14 to accept their puberty and get to terms with it. Sometimes, when the parents have not really talked about this to their daughters, they have a lack of information and feel scared and think that they have caught some kind of a disease. But of course, later on they do realise that it is a normal stage in their life and a part of their life cycle, and they start to deal with it.
One of the most important physical changes that occur with females during puberty is that of the development of breasts. Elements that make a female look more like a 'woman' than a 'girl' start to develop. Their body structure also starts to change where their waist might start to slim down, while areas such as the thighs and the hips may start to widen. In some females, it is common to find that one breast grows bigger than the other. This is something that is perfectly normal and gets sorted with time.
Hair development also starts occurring at most parts of the body, including hair on the arm pits along with greater hair on the legs and other parts of the body. Pubic hair also starts to develop more at this point of time. This is the time when females get into the habit of gong to salons and parlours regularly for beauty hair removal treatments like waxing etc.
Most females often tend to get scared with the acne that suddenly develops on their face, but it is perfectly normal during puberty. In fact, even 3-4 years later than puberty, women have a tendency to get small pimples on their face when it is just about time for their menstrual cycle to begin. Keeping the face clean and not playing with the pimples by pricking them are the most important steps to be followed. Make sure that you do not end up messing with your acne at this stage, or else the scars would remain for a lifetime. Take the help of a dermatologist if required.
With time, women tend to understand their body better as it keeps on developing. At first, it can turn out to be difficult for young girls to accept the changes and they also cannot identify the problems properly. But gradually they do understand that these are normal hormonal changes that happen with everyone. Even men face a lot of physical changes when they are maturing and thus, puberty and the bodily and physical developments that happen after it are completely normal for everyone.
