Weakness of the nervous system is called Neurasthenia. The other names for Neurasthenia are Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Neurasthenia is triggered by anxiety or stress and it is the state of mental disorder. Hypochondria, worry, lack of concentration, general lassitude and lack of concentration are the characters for which neurasthenia is known for.
Usually causes of the Neurasthenia are unknown. Some of its causes are -

Symptoms of Neurasthenia cover a very wide spectrum. Fainting, Anxiety, numbness in the parts of the body, Chronic fatigue and painful sensations are some of the major symptoms of Neurasthenia. Fatigue or feelings of weakness, accompanied by chest pain are the major symptoms.
Patient suffering from Neurasthenia may feel irregular and rapid intense heart beat. He may suffer from cold, clammy feet and hands. Faint or dizzy feeling is caused by hyper-ventilation. The other symptoms are sweating and sighing periodically. Many muscles of the body are affected by Neurasthenia in form of pain and aches but not necessarily at the same time. Everyday pain killers are required to get rid from the pain of upper part of the back and neck.

Loss of ability to concentrate
Finding noise irritating and painful
Forgetfulness
Numb hands or tingling fingers
Constant feeling of fatigue
Feeling very stiff in the everyday in the morning
Treatment - In Neurasthenia, the treatment commences when an exclusive diet of fresh fruits are given to the patient for four days. In this period patient should take meals of juicy fruits, three times a day. These fruits include grapes, orange, peach, pear, apple, papaya and pineapple. Throughout the day the patient should take his meal at the interval of four hours.
For proper cleaning of the bowel during this period, make use of warm water enema daily. Further for eight days the patient may extend his fruit diet in addition to the milk. During this period make a habit to drink 1.5 liter of milk every day. Milk should not be boiled but lukewarm. Thereafter the patient may switch to a balanced diet which consists of grains, nuts and seeds. More emphasis should be given on fresh fruits, vegetables juice and vegetables. Along with this diet may take a glass of butter milk. If proper progress is seen then extend further this fruit diet followed by milk.
To prevent Neurasthenia avoid mental exertion, excess of lovemaking, consumption of tobacco, sedentary living habits, and various other chronic diseases.
