Swine flu is declared to be a worldwide epidemic by WHO. It was basically found in pigs. It is a respiratory illness. It is caused by a virus called H1N1 influenza. If he is suffering from more diarrhea and vomiting then it is suspected that a person is infected by swine flu. Swine flu should not be treated as a general flu. It should be treated as serious as pneumonia. Sometimes even fatal respiratory failure can also occur due to swine influenza. Nowadays people all around the world fears by its name only.
For the treatment of swine flu use of antiviral medications are necessary. As soon as the infection is detected, antiviral medication can be used after consulting to an expert or doctor. This antiviral medication slows down the speed of flu virus if it is taken just after exposure that is within 48 hours. If anyone is having the symptoms of this flu and he is living in the swine flu area he or she may contact to doctor immediately. Don't leave the symptoms to become chronic. Vaccine for the swine flu in pig is available but vaccine for the swine influenza in human are still under process.
If a person infected from swine flu infection contacts a doctor, he advice the person to take a lot of preventive measures such as to avoid large gathering, use of masks, use of tissue paper while sneezing or coughing and many more. The doctor asks him to give respiratory sample collection for further test just after 4 days of illness. For further laboratory analysis and confirmation, the sample is sent to CDC.
