Home Remedies for Skin Allergies

People who have sensitive skins can allergic to certain substances when it is in contact with the skin. This is the most common skin allergies and is called contact dermatitis. Usually the substance is chemical-based, for example cosmetics, soap powder and other cleaning agents. These substances are called allergens which cause a hypersensitive reaction in the immune system, and this hypersensitive reaction is the allergy. Some of these allergens can come through food that is eaten.

The skin allergies will result in skin rashes and also may show on the skin as a skin inflammation. The culprit behind the hypersensitive reaction of the immune system is excessive toxins in the body.

Water is an excellent medium to wash the body of toxins. Many people do not drink the minimum eight glasses of water a day. This daily dose of water is needed to keep toxins in the body at a minimum.

In many Asian countries they swear by the healing powers of turmeric. Turmeric is a ginger-like plant and its root is added to curries, not only to give it a yellow color, but to also benefit from the daily consumption of turmeric. Turmeric is a blood purifier and can be consumed. It's also an anti-bacterial agent and an anti-inflammatory agent. It's difficult to consume turmeric, so you can mix turmeric with coconut milk or with water and brown sugar, or fruit juice and drink it every day, to help purify your blood. This will help reduce skin allergies in the long run. It is easy to get turmeric in most Asian grocery shops especially Thai and Indian shops, as it's used daily for curries.

Turmeric is an excellent home remedy for skin allergies. It can be made into a paste with water or even olive oil and applied externally on the skin rash that has resulted from a skin allergy. Turmeric will stain your clothes and sheets yellow which you will find difficulty in removing. So take care.

People with a toxins in their body, and having allergic reactions such as skin allergies, will benefit a lot if they are on a vegetarian diet, because meat contains a lot of toxins which gets stored in parts of the body such as the skin and colon.

Leaves that can relieve the symptoms of skin allergies are neem and the holy basil. These can be ground and the paste applied on the rashes that result from allergies.

Grind some poppy seeds and mix them with a little lime juice and a little water, and apply the paste on the skin allergy. This will give you relief from itchiness and inflammation of allergies. This is one of the widely used home remedies for skin allergies.

Sandalwood can also give a lot of relief from the irritation of skin allergies. Just make a paste with sandalwood powder and water or yoghurt or milk, and apply onto the affected areas. Leave it for about half an hour and you will soon be relieved of the discomfort in no time.

Skin allergies like all other allergies can be overcome by the right diet, drinking lots of water and taking the Asian miracle ingredient, turmeric. For relief from the symptoms of discomfort, neem paste, holy basil paste, sandal wood paste or poppy seeds made into a paste with lime juice can be used. But for the allergy to stop completely, you've to find out what you're allergic to by rubbing the soap or cream that you may be allergic to on the skin inside your arm, and leave it overnight. If there's any redness then you're allergic to it and must stop using it immediately. If food is causing the allergies than you've to by trial and error find out which food is the one causing it, and eliminate it from your diet.
