Different types of hair colours are commonly used by people on special occasions such as parties, Halloween or during certain cultural performances, but hair colouring or lightening chemicals may cause skin irritation and allergies. Hair that is over-exposed to certain chemicals may get damaged permanently and to prevent such damages, you should use natural hair lightening or colouring substances.
Sunshine: Sunlight is effective in lightening hair color. People who are more in sunlight find the color of their hair lightens. One can sit in sunlight after washing the hair and cover the body with clothes to prevent exposure of sun rays to skin. Every time you go for swimming, you can sit in sun to dry your hair to bring the effect. Drying the hair in sun after swimming in chlorinated water (of pond or sea or a swimming pool) helps in lightening its color.
Hydrogen peroxide: Hydrogen peroxide can be used to lighten the hair color to get a blonde color. The chemical is available at drug store and it can be mixed with ammonia to get a better effect. You can first apply the solution to a small part of your skin to test if it is causing any allergies or not, to the skin.
Lemon juice: There are some food products, which serve as natural bleach such as lemon juice and yoghurt can be applied on hair. Apply lemon juice mixed with water on the hair and wash after an hour. You can apply lemon juice to the hair using a cotton ball and sit in sunlight to dry your hair or you can use mixture of lemon juice and olive oil, to get a shiny texture.
Tea: Tea is also a colouring substance, which can be used to lighten the hair and it can even darken the color. One should test a few strands of hair before applying tea solution to prevent darkening of hair. Boil tea bags in water and apply the solution to your hair and wash with shampoo after drying it in sunlight.
You can also apply chamomile tea with lemon juice. Chamomile flowers extract is a natural hair lightening solution. You can make the extract of the flowers by boiling the flowers in water for half an hour and strain the flowers. Apply the solution to your hair when it cools. Keep it for almost half an hour and then wash gently.
Rhubarb: Fresh rhubarb can be chopped and boiled in water to make an extract. Apply the extract to hair and when it is dry, use shampoo on it.
Henna for red-brown color: There are many different types of henna available at stores, which can be applied to get natural shinning. Henna changes the color of hair to red. You should not use henna in case, you want to become a blonde but to get red color or to change from dark black to red, you can use henna, which also strengthens the hair.
