From time immemorial women have always used home remedies to have glowing skin and look beautiful. It is rumored that Cleopatra's beautiful glowing skin was the result of soaking daily in a tub of milk.
Today there are countless products out there, promising to do a lot of things for the skin. There are acne creams, anti-aging creams and moisturizers to fight acne, wrinkle and dryness respectively. These can be bought over the counter. Although there are more and more herbal products in the market, the majorities are chemical-based and can create more problems than good, especially in later life.
Our grandmothers had good healthy skin because they did not rely on any creams sold in the market, but relied on traditional home remedies to give them a glowing skin, that many women sought after. These home remedies do work; otherwise they'd have not been passed down for generations. However the effect is only seen when it is continued faithfully for a certain length of time.
Your skin will not look glowing if you've neglected it for a while. A healthy skin is naturally glowing as it's constantly renewing itself from the inside out. Here are some of the traditionally well-known home remedies for making skin glow and what they can do for your skin.
1. Dull Looking Skin and Uneven Tan: If you have acquired an uneven tan and a dull-looking skin, from frolicking in the sun the whole day, use the following to remove it and bring your skin back to its natural tone. Mix egg white with oatmeal and squeeze a small lime or lemon into it. Apply this home remedy as a face pack and leave it to dry. Once it's dry, rub gently with a small circular motion to remove the pack. Then wash it off with warm water and finally splash with some cold water. In no time your skin will have an even tone and will be glowing too.
2. Tired, Lifeless Looking Skin: Skin usually looks tired and dull when you do not cleanse it often enough. On the surface of the skin there are layers of dead cells. The layers of cells are dead and so a skin which is not taken care off will tend to look dull and lifeless. When the dead cells are removed, the layer beneath are made of living cells which have a natural glow to it. To get rid of the layer of dead cells, it's necessary to use a scrub. You can make your own scrub. Take a handful of almonds, grind it and mix it with milk. Use this mixture and massage it in a circular fashion and wash it off with lukewarm water, and then finally splash with cold water.
3. Pimples and Acne: Wash your face daily with a paste of ground green gram flour, which you can buy easily from an Indian grocery shop. It cuts down the excess oil, and leaves the skin soft and smooth. It's also applied like the exfoliates mentioned in the earlier paragraph. Mix the gram flour with water into a paste. Apply and leave to dry. Then rub lightly to remove it and wash off with water.
There are many other home remedies for making skin glow that you can use. They are not only inexpensive to make, but they will also give you a healthy glowing skin. If you decide to use one of the home remedies above, use it consistently for a while to see a difference in your skin. I assure you, you will soon see your skin glowing.
