The teenage years are one phase of life when you truly see all the good and the bad of the world. You see first love, and the first break-ups. There are first friends, first family fights, first club nights and first indulgences into alcohol, smoking etc. These are also the years where each person is likely to be under peer pressure, and the whole motive behind all actions and behaviours is to look the best and be looked at as unique from the rest of the crowd. As a result, this is one stage of life when a person follows fashion too regularly.
However, some of the teenage dreams and experiences get shattered for those who gain weight during this period. Fat teenagers have a tendency to be suffering from an inferiority complex, and that restrict themselves on the number of social outings that they go far. They constantly have a feeling of everyone looking at them and making fun of them. As a result, life turns miserable for them, and some may even go into depression.
Only very few teenagers are able to understand the fact that instead of sitting at home and cribbing about the fact that they are overweight, they should be doing something about it. As teenagers, many have a tendency to spoil their basic lifestyle habits. For one, they start indulging into partying and alcohol etc. While partying and indulgences into substances in limited quantity may seem potentially harmless, they contribute towards to weight gain. The body metabolism rate gets affected deeply by these activities, and you turn lethargic and start gaining weight.
Secondly, a lot of stress in terms of relationships and break-ups sometimes leads to binge eating. This is something that needs to be kept in control. At the same time, as teenagers, all of us have a tendency to be dependent on junk food too; and this must again be avoided.
Diets need to be carefully watched, as what you eat in your teenage years has effects over your health in the later stages of life too. One must try and include a lot of fruits and vegetables in his or her diet, and should make sure that all meals are well balanced in terms of the nutrition intake.
Regular exercising is also important. Old people do not have stamina, and hence it is difficult for them to indulge in sports and other activities. But teenagers are young and energetic, and would surely not want to be labelled as old. So why not take up some sport, or start going to the gym? You could even take up dance classes or aerobics training. Not only will all this help reducing your weight, but will also increase your stamina and keep you r body fit and mind alert.
Lead a healthy lifestyle, and you will automatically start to feel the difference in your body weight. You will also feel fresher and more active with increased stamina to do more work.
