Muscle mass is a must for every bodybuilder. If someone dreams of getting a perfect physique then shape, symmetry and definition holds very lower values as compared to muscle mass. Some may advice the use of steroids but steroids have many side effects that can further render the physique of the body. To begin with, heavy weight lifting provides the base for the development and maintenance of the muscle mass. If you are a beginner, weight lifting will help in the enforcement of the mass and gradually will help in maintaining it. The exercises such as gymnastics, calisthenics and cardiovascular are helpful for the achievement of the muscle mass. Also, you should gradually increase the weights during weight lifting and force your body to adapt to this increment. This will be effective for the increase of muscle mass. Your complete focus should be on the growth of your muscles, which is termed as hypertrophy. You should avoid the focus towards strength-training and should concentrate on the advancement of the muscles. Also, you should endeavor for compound exercises along with isolation exercises. Compound exercise helps in the generation of growth hormones in the body. It involves rotary motion exercises. On the other hand, isolation exercises also deals with rotary exercises but focuses on one body part at a time.



Diet is another important scenario that helps in increasing the muscle mass. What, when and how much you eat, all have the significance roles to play. Whatever diet plans you follow, intake of sufficient amount of calories (required for the development of the muscles) is a must. Deficiency will lead to improper muscles. Protein consumption is compulsory, if you want to increase the muscle mass. Over consumption of proteins, needs to be avoided. Lean meat can be the best source of right amount of proteins alongside fishes. Also, you should keep the duration of workouts, short. Long duration of workouts can hinder the muscles and its development. Also, a proper rest period has to be followed, when you are performing various exercises. This is required so that the muscles don't get pressurized and thus, have a better environment for its growth. Also, it is advisable to perform the exercises in proper number of sets. Level of water needs to be maintained in the body. You should drink plenty of water during the day and even during the course of weight lifting. Inadequate water levels can weaken the muscles. If wat-er consumption is not possible, go for other source of fluids such as energy drinks or fresh juices. It has to be kept in the mind that building muscle mass requires lots of hard work and dedication. Also, you should maintain a proper discipline and should make it a necessity.
