Our breath smells fresh and gums become healthy by the regular use of the mouthwash. Daily use of the mouth wash protects our teeth from developing the plaque. It is the hygienic routine of the mouth and it should be followed regularly. Along with the mouthwash, regular brushing of the teeth is also essential.
If anyone is in trouble due to gum infection and gum bleeding, mouthwash is very much effective. It reduces the growing of the mouth ulcer. To heal mouth ulcer and gum disorder, Myrrh used in toothpaste is recommended. For gum infection, Fennel is recommended to use as gargles and mouthwash. Mouthwash may be also prepared at home. Homemade mouthwash is very effective and inexpensive. Some of the homemade mouthwash are-
Take 4 oz. Vodka, 4 oz. water, 10-12 drops of spearmint or peppermint essential oil, 4 teaspoons of liquid glycerin and 5 drops Myrrh. First allow the water to boil and then add vodka and glycerin in it. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes after removing from the heat. Add essential oil in the above mixture and allow it to cool for half an hour. Then store in a plastic bottle with a flip at its top. Rinse your mouth daily at least twice to avoid gum infection, plaque, bad smell etc.
Take one-fourth teaspoons of sea salt and baking soda, 2 ounces of water, 1 drop of tea tree oil and 1 drop of pure peppermint oil. Mix all these ingredients properly. Now the minty taste homemade mouthwash is ready to use. It refreshes the mouth and also prevents the mouth from bad breath.
Take 1 teaspoon of anise seeds, 1 teaspoon of rosemary leaves, 2 and half cup of distilled water or you can take mineral water also and 1 teaspoon of mint leaves. First boil the water and add seeds and herbs and let it boil for 20 minutes. Cool this mixture and strain it to use as a mouthwash or as a gargle. This homemade mouthwash can be prepared in huge quantity also, but in that case you should add preservative like 1 teaspoon tincture of myrrh. It is a natural preservative and does not harm.
You can also wash your mouth with half glass of water containing 1 teaspoon of salt. Don't use alcohols as a mouthwash as it gives rise to oropharyngeal cancer. Also avoid using the market base mouth wash.
